うちのケニー1 : お気に入りソファ(Our Kenny 1 : Her favorite sofas)

子供の頃、犬をかっていた。
勿論、今みたいにペットについて色んな情報が入ったわけではないので、
普通に家の外に鎖でつなぎ、ご飯の残り物をあげていた。

何匹か飼った犬たちはどれも人なつっこくて、みんなに愛そうを振りまいて触られるのが大好きだった。

大人になって、自分の意思で初めて飼った犬がこのケニー。
でも、私が持っていた犬に対するイメージと全く違うのが、このケニーだ。

なにせ触られるのが嫌い。

よくフレンチブルドッグの飼い主さんが、この犬種はいつも体のどこかにピッタリ寄り添って甘ったれなワン子だと言っているのに。

居間にはソファーが２つあって、ケニーはよくそこに寝ている。
（子犬の時には、ソファーに座ったらダメって禁止していたのに、もうそんなルールは忘れ去られた。）

ケニーの毛並みは黒くてツルツルとして、触ったらとても気持ちが良い。
でもソファーに寝ているケニーに触ろうとすると、さっさと逃げてしまう。

がしかし、彼女はこのソファーが大好きだ。
とくに誰かが座っていた場所に、わざわざ座るのが好きなのだ。

どっちのソファーがいいという訳ではなく、誰かが座っていた場所を占領するのが好きなのだ。
まるで、「そこは私が前から座りたいと思ってたのに、君が座ってたから・・・」
と言っているみたいだ。
誰かが、右のソファーから離れたら、左のソファーからやってくる。

そして、またその逆も有り。

これってやっぱりアルファシンドロームなのかな。


My family have had a few dogs in my childhood.
Absolutely we couldn't get enough information for having dogs at that time.
We kept a dog on a chain in our backyard and fed it on the leftovers from our dinner.

Each dog was friendly and faithful to us and those who love dogs.
Also they liked to be petted and scratched behind their ears and belly.

Kenny is the first dog for me after growing up.
And she is very different from other dogs I've ever had before.

She doesn't like to be petted.
But the other day, I met this french bulldog's owner who said
"This kind of dog is very friendly. It's always been next to its owner. It likes to be close to owner's skin."

We have two sofas in our living room.
She is always lying on one of them.
(We didn't allow her to lie on it when she was a puppy,
But she completely forgot the rule by now.)

She has a smooth black coat. It makes me feel comfortable when I pet her.
But she slips away from the sofa once I pet her.

However she loves the sofas.
She likes to sit on it, especially the place where someone just leaves.

It's not that these sofas are both her favorite, she just likes to occupy some one's place.
It seems like she is saying that the place is hers.
"I would've wanted to sleep there."

Right after someone leaves the sofa on the right side, she comes there from the sofa on the left.
And vice versa.

Is it kind of the dog alpha syndrome?
